Databases for Kids

  • Looking for homework help?  Get help with your class assignments using Explora, a kid-friendly interface from EBSCO. Learn about endangered species, famous musicians, space exploration and more! Explora contains complete articles from dozens of the most popular elementary school magazines. All complete articles are assigned reading-level indicators (Lexiles®), and many articles are available in color PDF. You’ll also find easy-to-read encyclopedia entries written specifically for kids and more than one million images of photos, maps and flags!

  • A database with over 78,000 fiction and nonfiction titles for teens, older kids and younger kids. Find reviews, lexile ratings, book discussion guides, recommended reads lists and more!

  • Thanks to a grant from the Colorado State Library, EVLD's young patrons now have access to all four PebbleGo databases—Animals, Social Studies, Earth & Space and Biography. Designed for beginning researchers in grades K-3, these four databases feature leveled text for beginning readers and are enriched with spoken-word audio, text highlighting and audio and video clips.

  • TumbleBookLibrary is an online collection of animated, talking picture books which teach young children the joys of reading in a format they'll love. View our tutorial!
