Could you live a life on the run?  To get an idea of what it might be like, read The Passenger by Lisa Lutz.  When Tanya Dubois finds her husband’s lifeless body at the bottom of the stairs her impulse is to cash out her credit cards, dye her hair and leave town. She assures the reader however, that she didn’t kill her husband. She has no alibi though, so trusting this narrator proves challenging from the beginning.  While on the run she makes a call to an unknown man and demands a new identity.  Quickly Tanya becomes Amelia and finds herself in a bar where the bartender Blue seems to recognize her as a fraud and a fugitive.  Instead of turning her into the authorities however, Blue offers her a place to stay.  The two form an uneasy and dangerous alliance and before long Amelia finds herself on the run again, now under the name of Debra.  Readers are in for a breathless journey, across states and with various identities as Debra flees not only justice but her past. Which will catch up with her first?  Don’t miss this thrilling read!
