Tara Conklin is a writer and former lawyer whose first novel, The House Girl, was a New York Times bestseller, #1 IndieNext pick, Target book club pick and has been translated into 8 languages. Her second novel, The Last Romantics, was release in February 2019 from William Morrow/Harper Collins. Before turning to fiction, Tara worked for an international human rights organization and at corporate law firms in London and New York.
Laura Pritchett is an American author whose work is rooted in the natural world. She began her writing journey with the short story collection Hell’s Bottom, Colorado, which won the PEN USA Award for Fiction and the Milkweed National Fiction Prize. This was followed by the novels Sky Bridge, Stars Go Blue, Red Lightning, and The Blue Hour, which garnered numerous literary awards, including the High Plains Book Award and the WILLA.
Matthew Sullivan’s debut novel, Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore (Scribner) won the 2018 Colorado Book Award and was an IndieNext pick, a Barnes & Noble Discover pick, and a Goodreads Choice Award finalist. His essays and short stories have appeared in The New York Times (Modern Love), The Daily Beast, Lit Hub, The Masters Review, and many other places. He teaches writing, literature, and film at Big Bend Community College.

About Books in Bloom
Discover an opportunity to meet three exceptional authors and hear them speak about the creative writing process, their literary passions, inspirations and experiences as writers at the 8th Annual Books in Bloom on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Pines Lodge in Beaver Creek. The authors featured at this year’s Books in Bloom are Tara Conklin, Laura Pritchett and Matthew Sullivan. After the conclusion of the author presentations, they each will be available for book signing and their books will be available for purchase at the event. Come mingle with the authors and fellow book lovers, enjoy lively discussions, and sample delicious appetizers provided by the Grouse Mountain Grill.
Can’t make it to Books in Bloom? Bring your brown bag lunch for a conversation with Colorado novelist, Laura Pritchett at the Gypsum Public Library on Friday, May 3 at 12:00 pm. This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments and book signing available.
