The Last Time I Lied posted by Robyn

The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager is a page turning summer camp thriller where three girls go missing in the middle of the night near a nearby lake.  Emma Davis is 13 and the youngest of four girls in the cabin at Camp Nightingale.  As Emma dozes off one night, the three teens sneak out.  The girls are never to return or be found, and Emma deals with survivor’s guilt.  The story fast forwards several years to Emma as an adult.  She is a successful painter, yet remains haunted by the incident – she cannot create a picture on canvas without starting with the three young victims in white dresses.  When Camp Nightingale reopens 15 years later, Emma is invited back to fill a position of painting instructor and camp counselor.  She accepts, hoping to let the past behind her, but also to discover what happened that fateful night.  She sees several of the same camp workers there, and mysterious occurrences start up again.  She finds herself assigned to a cabin with 3 young girls who remind her of the missing roommates from years ago.  Emma also suspects she is being watched – she discovers a hidden camera and receives threatening messages as she digs for clues from over a decade ago.
